There will be a total of five (5) $1,000 scholarships available. One of those will be awarded in memory of Des Moines Police Officer Larry Judkins, who after twenty-eight years of service lost a battle with Hodgkin's disease.

Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, room and board, books and other educational expenses.  Entries must be submitted no later than Saturday, April 30, 2023.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Applicant must be a member or child of a member of Serve Credit Union, or a child of a member of the Des Moines Police Burial Association, Inc.
2.    Serve Credit Union staff and their family members are not eligible.
3.    To qualify for the Larry Judkins Memorial Scholarship, the applicant must be the child of a current Des Moines Police Officer.
4.    Applicant must be entering college or currently enrolled full time (12 credit hours) in an undergraduate program or enrolled in a vocational or technical institution.
5. Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale (in high school or college).
6. Past recipients are not eligible for renewal scholarship awards.
7. Applicant is required to write an essay of approximately 300-500 words
