“I am eager to serve as a board member for the credit union to contribute to its ongoing success in serving its members. As a third-generation member, I value the legacy and impact this organization has had and continues to have on my family and the community.

I grew up to my grandfather's stories about how the credit union started out of a cardboard box- as an adult, I have great respect for the dedication and guidance that took the cardboard box to what it is today. I have great work experience in accounting and finance, and have served on several boards. I will bring a knowledge in governance, strategic planning and collaboration.”

Dale Bruce - Incumbent

“I’ve been a member of a credit union for more than 38 years and strongly support the mission. I’ve served on a credit union board for more than 33 years, so I have a good understanding of what it takes to manage and operate a financial institution. I recently retired from managing a team of 8 Information Technology Managers that supervised more than 70 employees. Those IT Specialists and contractors supported more than 8,000 customers, so I have experience which gives me insight on working with credit union staff and providing good customer service.

I was a Boy Scout leader for over 10 years. During that time I served as Scoutmaster for three years, completed adult leader Wood Badge training, and led a contingent of boys to a National Jamboree in 2001.

I believe in and support the mission of credit unions as a member-owned cooperative that strives to ensure each member gets the personal financial assistance needed. I plan to help the credit union to continue to grow by increasing membership, improving current services, and adding new services.”

“I’ve been in Banking for 40 years and have had opportunity to hold many positions.

  • Community Banking - Retail, Commercial, and Mortgage Loans. Sales Leadership Branch Expansion. Managed Branches and Bank-wide Retail Departments. Established new programs such as State Funded Energy Assistance, Sales Finance Programs, Home Equity Credit Cards, and Convenience Store Branch Network.

  • Correspondent Banking - Provided Operational, Lending and Investment Services to Community Banks all throughout the Midwest.

  • Shazam - Inside knowledge of Electronic Transfer Funds Networks, ATMs, and the faster payment landscape.

My parents told me and I have passed this on to my kids is, ‘The most important thing you can do in life is to try to help other people’. I am retiring from my position at Shazam, but not retiring my knowledge and experience to help others, if I can, from what I know of the "banking" industry. Serve Credit Union is a financial institution that has done a great job providing financial services to its members. I would love to see this continue and assist with any improvements for its future success.”
